I last completed in the Allerthorpe Triathlon in 2008 when I had a stress fracture in my foot. I didn't know it at the time though, and I was hoping the 2010 edition would be slightly less uncomfortable.

Swim
I was really pleased with my swim. I broke away early on and on a technical course I managed to come out in 8:23! I have to confess this sounds too fast, but it was 30 seconds quicker than 2 years ago so I would like to think it is not too far off. Either way it set me up nicely for the rest of the race with second place over a minute behind.

Swim score: 3/3 for sub 18min 1500m. Sure, it may have been short but not much I could do about that.

Bike
This was my first sprint race in 2 years and it showed. I have no ability to go fast what so ever, which isn't a bad thing, this is why I am doing these races. I could cruise at half ironman pace, but knocking one or two gears up made for much harder riding. Obviously, this is how it should be, but I just wasn't very good at.

Bike score: 0/3. Similiar time to 2 years ago but without the aero toys. Still this is an improvement to be expected, not to be lauded.

Run
Coming out of T2, I passed the next riders coming in so I felt confident I had it in the bag. I felt like I was running well but my time was disappointing and only second quickest.

Run score: 0/3. Too slow.

Overall Race Point: 1/1 Didn't make any mistakes as far as I can recall and was a decent performance for a training race.

Total Score 4/10.
